Right after getting a massage the benefits are felt immediately. Your entire body relaxes into a wonderful peacefulness and clear mind. Having a massage occasionally feels great. However, it is even more beneficial to have massages on a regular basis since they can do so much for your health. Consistently and regularly working with a licensed massage therapist will allow you to build on the effects that your weekly massages provide you with. Your muscles and body will stay relaxed and loose even when things get mentally or physically stressful for you.
Relieve Stress

Everybody is looking for ways to reduce the amount of stress in their lives. One of the major keys to finding balance in a healthy lifestyle is to reduce stress. Just having one massage session can help to significantly lower your cortisol (stress hormone), insulin levels and heart rate. This all contributes to reducing your overall stress level.

Relaxation

Are you ever given the chance to really disconnect from the major stressors in your life? You can do this by having a massage as it enables your body to go into a recovery mode that is very restful. The effect continues for quite some time after your massage is over.

Posture Correction

Having poor posture is actually a bad habit. You can correct it by having a proper massage and relaxing. Massage reinforces healthy and natural movements and helps to get your posture back in the place that it is supposed to be.

Breathing

Whenever your breathing is quick and shallow, you know that you are anxious. Massage can help to reduce your anxiety through slowing down your respiration. It also helps your body remember how it can relax once again.

Muscle Pain Reliever

Having sore muscles has a lot to do with sitting down frequently. The pain can be relieved with a massage.

Improves Blood Circulation

Pressure is created by massage that moves your blood through congested areas of your body. This improves your blood circulation and overall body function.
Become Flexible

With age, your joints become tighter. This can restrict your range of motion. Your joints are kept fluid by massage which enables your body to be a lot more flexible and less stiff, which lowers your risk of becoming injured.
Heal Injuries

It takes time for injuries to heal, which can be frustrating at times. Massage can increase your strength and flexibility.

Reduce Headaches

More than 40 million Americans experience chronic headaches and migraines. Massage reduces headache pain and eases pressure. It is also believed to reduce how frequently headaches occur.

Stay Healthier For Longer

It has been shown by studies that massage increases the ability of the immune system to eliminate toxins. Its cytotoxic abilities are improved, meaning that more killer cells are used when necessary.

Postoperative Recovery

Having massage results in nutrients and oxygen being pumped through your body's organs and tissues. It makes it ideal for post-operative rehabilitation purposes.

Eliminates High Pressure

There are more misconceptions surrounding blood pressure than almost any other medical condition. It has been found that massage naturally wards off this condition.

Deep Tissue Massage

Firm pressure is used as a type of therapeutic treatment. It reduces muscle spasms, pain, stress, and inflammation. If chronic pain is something that you suffer from, then this kind of message is your best option. The tension in the body is released by deep tissue massage through the use of deep strokes on certain areas of your body. Deep finger pressure is also used on contracted areas for following the grain of tendons, fascia, and muscles. It is referred to as deep tissue since it focuses on the muscle's deep layers. It is ideal for healing muscle spasms, improves circulation, improves range of motion and reduces pain.
Swedish Massage

Medium pressure is used by this form of full-body massage. It stimulates circulation and improves muscle tone, serotonin levels, and tension. It is among the most mentally and physically relaxing massages that are available - so much so that it is often referred to as "relaxing massage." Here at our spa in Apopka, FL, your therapist will utilize light-to-firm pressure touches using long, smooth strokes. A combination of rubbing and kneading will also be used for getting to the layers of superficial muscle tissue. Passive or active joint movements may also be used for complete relief.
Sports Massage

This style of therapeutic massage involves compression and stretching. It reduces muscle tension, reduces swelling and improves flexibility. Its focus is to alleviate muscle fatigue coming from weightlifting, physical exercise or other kinds of problems resulting from sports activities. Sports massage may be used before or after an activity for treating the body. Dynamic stretches are used in pre-activity to move connective tissue through the full range of motion. That helps with reducing injuries. With post-activity massage, a focus is placed on recovering muscle tissues that were impacted during a sporting activity. This is achieved through the use of long strokes which flush toxins out that contribute to joint and muscle pain.

Reflexology

Reflexology refers to hand and foot massage. Pressure gets applied to different areas that correspond to various body organs. The treatment produces feel-good effect, but the purpose and practice also go deeper than the muscles and skin by taking the foot's specific reflex points to induce a healing response with the corresponding areas of the body and organs. A couple of the many intense and small movements that you will experience as part of a reflexology treatment including pushing deep into your arch, tracing around your heel, pulling on your toes and kneading your foot's soft fleshy ball.
